'Apprentice' hopeful Joanna Riley has a secret criminal conviction for a racial attack on three taxi drivers.

The cleaning firm boss and her then-boyfriend Leon Kirk - father of her twin boys - were arrested and charged after she branded one of the drivers a "f**king dirty p**i", before kicking all of their cars.

Two of the drivers were hurt and Joanna - who is hoping to be hired by Lord Alan Sugar in the latest series of the BBC show - pleaded guilty to her part in the 2005 attack minutes before she was due to stand trial.

However, a source close to Joanna, 25, insists she's not racist and was provoked by the drivers.

He said: "The driver made an extremely provocative, sexist and insulting comment. Joanna lashed out with comments she accepts were unacceptable. She deeply regrets it. Joanne's mixed race and is not a racist."

Meanwhile, another hopeful, Shibby Robati, has a formal warning for "unprofessional behaviour" on his record after a string of complaints were made about him when he was working as a junior doctor for St. George's Healthcare NHS Trust.

His warning, which was issued by the General Medical Council last November, will remain on his records for five years.

The news comes after it was revealed mortgage broker Christopher Farrell was arrested on suspicion of fraud and was accused of hiding a weapons conviction from bosses of the BBC show.
