A small girl in a big girl's body?

I think her thumb sucking is indicative of someone who really is a little girl.
She seems to be a little confused by life and people, and finds all the fast moving social dynamics bewildering yet fascinating.
She seems to have a child-like and generous value system which is based around fairness and which does not seem tainted by the complexities of the real world.
She also works on a farm and no doubt has herded sheep at some point, so she certainly gets my approval, but ultimately she is a bit of a simple village idiot and doesn't stimulate the viewer.
